The London Confession of Faith of 1689 is a blessed Confession. When I wrote the below hymn I certainly did not mean that it is equal to the Word of God. It is in fact a subordinate standard to God’s written Word. Therefore it is not equal to the written, God-breathed Scriptures. I have chosen to write a hymn on the Confession because it is dear to my heart. It is based upon the divine Scripture. It is unequaled truth, and I love truth. It is sacred and holy. I hope for you to see the peace, unity and purity of the Confession by this hymn. God’s truth is sacred, timeless and true. We ought to believe it passionately without wavering from it because of the honor of God.
